Brigadier (Retd) K.A Gnanaweera is the current President of the Sri Lanka Ex-Servicemen's Association (SLESA). He also serves as the Honorary Treasurer of the Association of Retired Flag Rank Officers according to Sri Lanka Army. Additionally, he is involved with the Ex-Servicemen's Institute as Chairman of the Board of Trustees according to the Ex-Servicemen's Institute. He has been involved in various events organized by SLESA, such as the Poppy Day ceremony where he pinned the first poppy flower on the Prime Minister according to Daily Mirror and the annual get-together of the Sri Lanka Army Signal Association.
